Born in Mexico City in 1990, Andrea studied chemistry at UNAM and is a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Spanish Language at the University of Iowa. She is an author of a fantasy tetralogy, two short story books and a book of personal essays. She had scholarships at FONCA at the Young Creatives Program in two occasions and at the Residence of Students in Madrid for two years. She won the Gilberto Owen National Literature Award in 2018 for a short story, the José Luis Martínez National Young Essay Award in 2019 and the Juan José Arreola National Award in 2019. She was selected as a part of the 25 Young Novelists in Spanish by Grants magazine. She collaborates with the Tierra Adentro, Este País and Vaso Cósmico magazines and is a co-founder of the collective Mexicona. Currently she is doing a Masters in Asian and African Studies at COLMEX.
