Aline Valek tells stories with words, sounds and images. Half from Minas Gerais and half from Brasília, she publishes independently since she was a teenager, in the outskirts of the Federal District. Graduated in Social Communications, she turned the internet into her creative territory, where she publishes her blog, newsletters and podcasts. She wrote for Carta Capital and Update or Die!, has short stories published in several anthologies and magazines, like Superinteressante and Dragão Brasil, as well as her own personal collections, like the most recent “Neuroses a Varejo”. Author of the sci-fi novel “As águas-vivas não sabem de si” and the apocalyptic portrait of Brazil in the novel “Cidades afundam em dias normais”, both published by Rocco Publisher, Aline translates the world by the lense of her complex and intriguing protagonists. She is the creator of the Multiplatform house Bobagens Imperdíveis, which has already unfolded into a newsletter, monthly zines and two short story collections “Bobagens Imperdíveis para ler numa manhã de sábado” and “Bobagens Imperdíveis para atravessar o isolamento”. Currently, she is the host of Bobagens Imperdíveis podcast, where she tells stories about wonderful things hidden in arts, science and languages, as well as writing the newsletter Uma Palavra, which is already in its hundredth edition.
