Regina Kanyu Wang (she/ her) is a PhD fellow of the CoFUTURES project at the University of Oslo. Her research interest lies in Chinese science fiction, especially from the gender and environmental perspective. She holds a bachelor degree in business administration and an MFA in creative writing, both from Fudan University. She is also an awarded writer who writes both science fiction and non-fiction. She has won multiple Xingyun Awards for Global Chinese SF (Chinese Nebula), SF Comet International SF Writing Competition, Annual Best Works of Shanghai Writers’ Association and others. Her writings have been supported by the Contract Writer Programme of Shanghai Writers’ Association, Shanghai Culture Development Foundation and Writing Downtown in Las Vegas residency. Her stories can be found in Harvest, Shanghai Literature, Flower City, Galaxy’s Edge, Clarkesworld and more. Her analytical essays can be found in Mithila Review, Broken Stars, Korean Literature Now and more. She has published two science fiction story collections, Of Cloud and Mist 2.2 and The Seafood Restaurant in Chinese and her works have been translated into English, German, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Japanese, Bangle and more. She has co-edited the special issue on Chinese science fiction for Vector, the critical journal of British Science Fiction Association, and The Way Spring Arrives and Other Stories, the first all-female-and-non-binary Chinese speculative fiction anthology (forth coming in 2022.)
